Hiring Broncos for Wrestling Camp Clinicians / Counselors

Growing our Boise State Wrestling Camp System

Fundraising at the NCAA Division I level is critical for all wrestling teams.  The teams that have money consistently beat the teams that do not have money.  This is not to say that teams with lesser budgets will never win.  However, over a long period of time, winning consistently cannot be expected without fundraising.  College Athletic Directors are not patient with wrestling programs that don't pull their weight in the fundraising department.  We are looking for the Boise State Wrestling Camp system to become a major fundraiser for our program.

We call on fans, local and regional high schools, and coaches to support our cause by sending your team to our camp each summer.  It is a way to donate to our program while receiving an excellent product in return.  We know there are other privately owned and operated summer wrestling camp systems.  We support those camp systems by sending our athletes to work as counselors, and our coaches to work as clinicians.  But keep in mind that choosing a college wrestling camp like Boise State as your number one camp choice is very important to our continued existence as a division I wrestling program in the western United States.  When you choose to support us by sending wrestlers to our camps, you choose to support college wrestling our west.  Without your help, college wrestling out west will DIE!

So please think before you try to see BSU athletes and coaches at another camp for a cheaper price.  If you like our product, if you enjoy watching and following Boise State Wrestling, and if you want to help us continue our tradition, support Boise State Wrestling Camps.

For teams in Idaho or within 5 hour drive:

Coach Owens and Randall want to make sure that we only do individual camps for teams that are coming to our team camp.  The idea is that BSU Wrestling doesn't want teams staying home and not attending our team camp because they are getting a special camp right at their own HS for an often cheaper price, by BSU coaches/athletes.
So as long as you are bringing a team to the BSU Wrestling Team Competition camp, then I'd be more than happy to come out to your High School for a camp or clinic if it fits my schedule.  Look at my calendar page of this website for my schedule.
I charge $500 a day for small camps, $750 a day for medium size camps, and $1000 a day for large commercial camps.  I usually teach 2 to 3 two-hour sessions per day.  For each BSU athlete that I bring with me, per day I charge (and pay them) $50 a day for small camps, $75 a day for medium size camps, and $100 a day for large camps.  Obviously the law of supply and demand is always a factor.  Clinicians (Kirk White, Chris Owens, Greg Randall, Tyler Sherfey, Cory Fish) and Counselors (BSU current athletes **not allowed to be advertised as clinicians**) are more likely to return to your camps the better they are treated and the more you pay them.  The above clinician prices are my personal rates (you'd have to ask other clinicians personally what they charge); the above counselor prices are the minimum that we advise our athletes to take for a camp assignment.

For teams NOT in Idaho or within 5 hour drive:
We realize that bringing your team to our team camp may or may not be feasible as far as travel arrangements go.  So for us to come to your school and do a camp, it will depend on if you have the ability to send wrestlers to our Boise State Team Camp, and if you make an effort to help us build our camp system.
I charge: $500 a day for small camps, $750 a day for medium size camps, and $1000 a day for large commercial camps, plus travel expenses (flight, lodging).

Camp Payment:
Online payment is NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME FOR THE TEAM CAMP. Please make checks payable to Boise State University Wrestling Camp, and bring them with you the day of camp. We will collect all funds at check-in, and we will receipt all funds at that time. If paying for multiple wrestlers at once, please bring an itemized note/list complete with amount paid for each kid (to ease our bookkeeping and red tape), because we must abide by NCAA rules. Boise State Athletic Administration has mandated that this is the ONLY way we can collect funds.

7) July 14-18: Bethel HS Wrestling Camp in Spanaway, WA
Camp Director: Head Wrestling Coach BHS, Art Teacher GKHS Jody Coleman     Contact Info: jcoleman@bethelsd.org

You're invited back to Bethel High School's annual summer wrestling camp.
Last year we had a great turnout with 150 kids attending and it went
great. This camp is building in tradition. We currently have two awesome
hosts for our camp Kirk White will be returning, and Jeff Thompson is
coming in from Montana. There will be many college level wrestlers on hand
to help with instruction. Last year we had 7 college wrestlers helping
with instruction, this year will be the same. Some of you may qualify for
team discounts so contact your coach prior to sending in your
registration. (see the attachment for the registration or visit my
classroom website at:
http://classrooms.bethelsd.org/gkhs/jcoleman/index.php?section=documents).
Early camp registration is suggested as we may fill all the spots quickly,
early camp registration also gets a camp t-shirt.
New to the camp this year is the Intensive option B. The intensive camp is
optional to grades 7-12, but will prove to be challenging.  The half day
technique camp will be open for grades K-12. If you have any questions
feel free to contact me.
